"There was a mannequin-makers next door to my old studio in Ladbroke Grove, and the rejects were left in a loading bay, so we borrowed some. The band brought a box of vintage sunglasses along, which we proceeded to decorate the mannequins with – they liked the reference to the sleeve of Roxy Music’s Manifesto album. The shoot was to accompany an article in Loaded, which didn’t run for some reason, but I was very pleased to shoot Pulp as they're a great band visually as well as musically.” Lawrence Watson
This signed, limited edition, exhibition-grade print shows Pulp as the time they released their 1994 breakthrough His ‘n’ Hers album. The album made the world fall in love with Pulp’s unmistakeable songwriting with songs like Do You Remember the First Time?, Babies, Lipgloss and Joyriders. Lawrence Watson’s captured the band as they made their mark for the first time, and on the cusp of releasing their 1995 magnum opus Different Class.
Lawrence Watson’s portraits of music royalty have visually defined our favourite musicians for decades. For Print Matters, Lawrence shares an exclusive collection of limited edition, signed prints of his globally renowned work.
