“This was taken at a photo-call in the garden at the back of the Ritz Hotel. I can’t remember why, but half of Fleet Street’s photographers were there. One of them said, ‘Alright lads, put your telephotos on’, and they all did and stood well back. I prefer to get up close, so I didn’t move with the others, and almost instantly, an old-timer walked up behind me and gave me a cuff around the head to remind me to confirm.” David Corio
Since the age of 16, pioneering photographer David Corio has built an extensive six-decade music photography archive. Corio has spent close 50 years in recording studios, backstage dressing rooms, and at major cultural events, documenting some of the 20th century’s most important musicians.
