“The Revillos, formerly known as The Rezillos, were a great fun band from Edinburgh who were just too ahead of their time. They mixed a spacey punk with pop rhythm, which bands such as the B52s later found much greater commercial success with. This photo of Eugene Reynolds, their sax-playing lead singer, was shot at Arthur’s Seat, part of the beautiful group of hills that overlook the city. Max Atom, William Mysterious, Rocky Rhythm and Fabian Wonderful were some of the other band members – with names like that they just had to be good. Eugene bemoaned the fact that though he used a can of hairspray a day his hair would only stand up for a couple of songs on stage. In 1980 Eugene Reynolds was the first person to win the New Musical Express poll for best haircut.” David Corio
