“Marianne Faithful looked transparently pale on the enormous dark Dominion stage. Her chain-smoking all through the gig and her wailing voice being totally at odds with her delicate appearance and girlish white blouse. Marianne was 36 at that time and had been battling a pernicious drug habit for many years. This photo was taken a couple years after the release of her Broken English album, which had been received to great critical acclaim.” David Corio
Since the age of 16, pioneering photographer David Corio has built an extensive six-decade music photography archive. Corio has spent close 50 years in recording studios, backstage dressing rooms, and at major cultural events, documenting some of the 20th century’s most important musicians.
